This year, great personalities and events are ready to honor Riga as the European Capital of Culture 2014, with a series of events that Latvia will project on the European stage. One of these will definitely be the show named “The Book 1514-2014 “, dedicated to the five hundredth anniversary of the invention of printing by Gutenberg, and hosted at the brand new National Library. Special attention also for the exhibition on the First World War (in Latvian National Museum of Art) and those dedicated to the ancient Amber Road, with pieces on display in many museums in the Latvian capital.
